英国作家安吉拉·卡特在她的文学创作中致力于挑战传统的二元对立的两性关系。本书选取卡特的三部作品《霍夫曼博士的邪恶欲望机器》(1972),《新夏娃的激情》(1979)和《马戏团之夜》(1982),探讨卡特怎样通过在作品中对现实和男性/ 女性的主体性进行消解和重建,以体现其对父权制所定义的两性关系进行质疑和重建的主张。
现为重庆师范大学外国语学院副教授,硕士生导师。上海外国语大学英美文学博士,英国莱斯特大学访问学者,重庆市英美文学教学团队成员。发表学术论文20余篇,包括在CSSCI等核心刊物上发表的论文7篇,主持省部级项目一项。
