郑树棠总主编的《新视野大学英语·综合训练3(第2版)》是《新视野大学英语》(第二版)系列教材之一，与《读写教程》配套使用。在设计上，《综合训练》配合《读写教程》，将语言知识难点和重点通过各种不同练习形式进行反复操练，达到透彻理解、准确和牢固掌握的目的。为提高学生的语言实际应用能力，《综合训练》增加了应用文写作的内容，包括便条、书信、登记表／履历表、电报和电传、公告、通知、声明、证明书、求职申请等。通过训练，学生可以了解常见英语应用文体的写作特点，逐步掌握英语应用文写作方法和技巧，为语言综合应用能力全面提高打下一定的基础。
